A: I have several people who have contacted me saying, "I plan on buying this spring/summer". While I understand that inventory generally increases during the spring/summer seasons, (so you'll have more houses to choose from) you may not want to wait that long. At the end of November, I sent out letters to all of my previous home buyers, warning them that it appears that in December, the Feds will increase interest rates, so they may want to refinance. Come December, the Feds DID increase interest rates. |
So now I'd like to give the same warning to my future clients. Those who plan on buying a home, come Spring/Summer. You might not want to wait that long.
The good news is, interest rates are still low! Your loan officer can't lock your rate until you have an address that it applies to. So my suggestion to you, is to contact your loan officer right away to get the loan process started. Once you have your pre-approval, send a copy to me, along with a list of your requirements in a home. Let's find your home NOW, so you won't have to pay more, later.
